Being a mailman is no easy feat. Rain, sleet, snow, or shine, I'm out there delivering the goods. And let me tell you, after a long day of pounding the pavement, dodging grumpy dogs, and wrestling with overloaded mailbags, I need a place to unwind and "deliver" myself from the daily grind. Thankfully, I've discovered the perfect "address" for relaxation: Chicago's. This place is a real "special delivery," tucked away like a forgotten package at the bottom of a mail sack. The atmosphere is as warm and inviting as a handwritten letter, with a friendly staff that always goes the "extra postage." Speaking of going the extra mile, Andi the bartender is a true "first-class" act. She's always got a smile as bright as a priority mail sticker and a kind word, even when I'm feeling a little "stamped" out. She mixes a mean cocktail with the precision of a mail sorting machine and her knowledge of whiskey is so extensive, it could fill a whole zip code. She truly "delivers" on every visit. The drinks at Chicago's are "letter perfect," with a wide selection of beers on tap and a cocktail menu that's longer than a line at the post office on tax day. Whether you're in the mood for something "classic" like an Old Fashioned or something a little more "express delivery" like a shot of tequila, they've got you covered. And the prices? Well, let's just say they won't leave you feeling like you've been "postage due." Now, I know what you're thinking: "What does a mailman know about good bars? Shouldn't he be busy 'sorting' out his route?" But trust me, I deliver to all sorts of places, from dive bars smelling like stale "dead letters" to fancy lounges where you need a "return receipt" just to get in. Chicago's is the perfect "package deal" – it's got a casual, "parcel" post vibe, but it's also classy and well-maintained. It's the kind of place where you can "address" your thirst and unwind, without feeling like you're in a stuffy, pretentious "mailroom." So, if you're looking for a great place to "stamp" your approval in Kansas City, I highly recommend checking out Chicago's. Tell Andi the mailman sent you, and she'll take good care of you. Nice local bar with kc native written all over the walls. Represents very well a good taste and maintains cleanliness while keeping the ambiance rich

Absolutely loved our visit to Chicagos! The festive Christmas atmosphere was a delightful touch during our trip from Canada for the Chiefs game. The owners and staff were incredibly welcoming, making us feel right at home. The locals added to the fantastic vibe. Highly recommend this little gem for its great atmosphere and fantastic hospitality

We visited 5/20. I wish I could remember the bar tenders name but she was awesome. Great atmosphere, excellent service, a fun and relaxed vibe.

Always have a nice time here, I definitely prefer smaller bars. I've only ran into one instance where a couple was fighting which kind of killed the vibe. Bartenders are really nice and easy to chat up, I've spent a lot of time in this bar although I may not quite remember how much time. I also really enjoy their house made shots, I'd recommend trying them all and always get one before the night begins. The only downside is the parking, no actual parking lot.
